Beach bath Lido
The sunbathing lawn is only separated from the sandy beach by a short walk and extends at the same height. Within the Lido area there are also many other quiet places where you can relax. If the water temperatures in the lake are still a bit too cool for swimming, there is a heated swimming pool available. There is also a spacious children’s playground that invites you to linger and play. The playground equipment has been carefully selected and meets the latest educational and safety standards.
Ufschötti
The Ufschötti, located just a few minutes south of Lucerne’s main train station, is an idyllic beach spot on Lake Lucerne. Here bathers and sun worshipers will find spacious sunbathing areas with shady trees and a spacious sandy beach. The green areas offer enough space to play football or frisbee or to have a barbecue together, always with consideration for other guests. During the summer season you can get hot and cold snacks and refreshing drinks at the Ufschötti kiosk and in the Ufschötti bar. There are also showers and toilets nearby. Experience the fascinating shipping on Lake Lucerne and discover 38 kilometers of sea routes, 34 ship stations and a breathtaking landscape. Immerse yourself in the world of shipping and enjoy the incomparable atmosphere. The five restored paddle steamers Uri, Unterwalden, Schiller, Gallia and Stadt Luzern are true treasures of shipping history. They were built between 1901 and 1928 and together form the largest fleet of paddle steamers on an inland lake in the world. Thanks to hourly boat connections, you can get to Flüelen or Alpnachstad, for example, or take part in one of the round trips. In addition, you can expect special trips such as the fondue ship, the cake trip, Valentine’s, music or breakfast trips.

On the steamboat or motorboat, you travel in 1st class (including an accompanying person) from Lucerne to Flüelen and back. The captain shows his wheelhouse and the machinists lead into the belly of the ship. There is also a fine meal at the on-board restaurant – with a view of the Rigi, Pilatus and Stanserhorn.

A cable car ride up Mount Pilatus is an unforgettable destination for adventure seekers and nature lovers. The steepest cog railway in the world runs from Alpnachstad with a maximum gradient of 48 percent through forest, meadows and rock faces.
